SXO is an effort to prepare a site that is friendly to search engine algorithms, but also to users themselves. It makes the site fast, readable, full of substantive and pro-sales content, but also based on correctly defined keywords.

SXO - what is it?

What really is SXO? In a nutshell, we can say that it is SEO combined with user experience activities. It involves implementing activities under SEO in such a way as to simultaneously support the user sphere of a specific website.

Among the SXO activities we can include:

  • internal and external linking;
  • preparation of a functional payment system;
  • execution of user-friendly, professional and SEO-compliant content;
  • preparation of a responsive website, displaying correctly on various devices.

What are the benefits of SXO? On the one hand, it's effective positioning of websites. SXO improves a site's visibility in search engines, plus it meets the needs of users. SXO activities resemble a self-perpetuating wheel. Matching the site to users' requirements (a fast, substantive, practical and readable site) increases the number of page views and translates into trust from search engine algorithms, which encourages more users to visit the site. And so on and so forth.

What are the most common mistakes made in SXO activities?

Mistakes can happen during the implementation of SXO activities.Which ones are made most often? First of all, it's the lack of balance between SEO and UX activities.

It is worth remembering that SEO is as important as user experience and vice versa. You can't have a situation where the text is devoid of keywords, or there is no linking on the page. On the other hand, too much saturation with phrases is not well regarded either.

Among the next most common SXO mistakes we can include:

  • lack of attention to page loading speed;
  • under-design of the website, so that a large number of errors are generated;
  • improper placement of buttons on the site;
  • unprofessional and expert content;
  • a complicated conversion process, i.e. the process, for example, leading to a purchase.

How to avoid SEO and UX mistakes? What is a good idea to do?

There are several methods to reduce the risk of mistakes when implementing SEO and UX activities. First of all, it is worth remembering to base all SXO work on a comprehensive strategy. It is also important to plan and carefully analyze each step. The introduction of changes should be preceded by an SEO audit, which will answer questions such as the scope of necessary modifications and their nature.

It is also worth focusing on several issues from the level of content optimization. Careful analysis of keywords and regular analysis of headlines and texts to ensure that they meet SEO principles will help avoid mistakes. Previously published texts should be replaced with those made by signed authors, with expert and pro-sales qualities.

Before implementing a website promotion (e.g. Google Ads campaign), it is good practice to thoroughly check all modules, along with analyzing the payment system. This is a way to avoid problems arising from any (minor or major) errors that occur at the usability stage.
